Handmade Hellos

One really fun aspect of the Stationery Show this year was the promotion Hello Lucky! and Chronicle Books set up for the upcoming book I'm a part of. "Handmade Hellos" is due out in the fall, and it will be full of fabulous card ideas from some of my favorite designers (and me!). For the show, Sabrina set up a "passport" type of contest, where visitors picked up a postcard and then got it stamped at each of our booths in order to win a prize. We got a lot of new people stopping by the booth, and I think the buzz it generated for the book was great!
Another Year
I'm back from New York and I have a million things to do! If you want to see some of the other great companies that were at the show this year, check out Grace's coverage on design*sponge. Here are some pictures of my booth.

Shearing Time
Well, it's that time again: puppy haircut time! Tomorrow Seymour will be shorn, so I thought I'd post some "before" pics for you. Stay tuned tomorrow to see the difference!

Made
Thank you to everyone who made it out to the Maker Faire this weekend! It was really great seeing some of you in person. The Faire itself was pretty overwhelming, but here are a couple shots of our booth at Bazaar Bizarre.

Posts are going to be scarce for a little while now, as it's once again time for the National Stationery Show, so bear with me!

Magic Carpet
Leah at More Ways to Waste Time wrote up the 2008 SF Decorators Showcase, and I just wanted to point out the beautiful faux rug that my friend Jane Kim painted for Shirley Robinson. You might remember Jane's work in last year's showcase, where she painted a gorgeous mural. The Decorator's Showcase will be open from April 26-May 26 this year, so go take a look!

Beam Me Up

I know you all are dying to know which tray I decided to purchase from Ebay for my dresser, and at last I can tell you! Here it is in all its glory... the Scottie tray! I think it's very cute and the perfect shade of green.

Writing on the Wall
Here's a little peek at one of the walls in my kitchen, including that little key holder I just bought. The show poster on the left is an antique I picked up in Rhode Island, the little clock (which works!) is by fellow RISD alum David Dear, the small poster is a relic from my days at school (I think it was designed by Ryan Waller, but someone correct me if I'm wrong), and the two heart cards are by Dutch Door Press (top), and Blue Snail Papers (bottom). I'm still working on re-wiring the phone so that it will work...

Nice and Toasty
I'd Like to Propose a Toast

For some reason I just love colorful, food-oriented toys. I can't imagine why! I think this little vintage toaster (complete with cardboard toast) would be so cute with the Haba toys I posted about a few months ago...

Little Pitchers...
I am loving this little creamer! It wouldn't fit into my collection, but maybe somebody else will give it a good home.
