Togetherness!

The sheet music in my last post reminded me of the amazing stop motion titles from The Parent Trap, starring Hayley Mills (and Hayley Mills!). This was one of my favorite movies growing up (along with That Darned Cat), and I still love to watch it- it always makes me feel better if I'm down. (Watch the titles below.)

Trays

I saw this collection of trays from Fingerspitzengefühl on Bloesem and had to repost. I see these enamel trays somewhat frequently when I'm thrifting and antiquing, and on their own they never seem that exciting to me. This is such a great example of how having multiples of something can really enhance its aesthetic value. Want to start your own collection? Here are some that are available on Etsy right now. I particularly like the cat one.

Pettibone

I'm completely in love with these new paintings by another one of my RISD classmates, David Pettibone. They are so lush...

If I Was in Love With You

I found this today while cleaning up my living room. I drew it when I was a kid (I'm not sure how old... I'd guess from the handwriting that I was about 7) and it seems pretty appropriate for Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day has always been one of my favorite holidays. This year, I have to admit, I'm not too jazzed about it. But I hope that you all have a wonderful day with the people you love.

From Afield: San Leandro

Yesterday my friend Marina and I drove around and took pictures. I used to do this all the time: just cruise around some unfamiliar neighborhood and snap photos of things that caught my eye. It's been a long time since I was able to convince anyone to go with me, though, and it was definitely fun to have a cohort. Here are a few from our jaunt into San Leandro. Sorry if these are a little heavy on sky- it's been so rainy here lately that the blue was irresistible. (Also, I'm short so my perspective is almost always upwards.)
