Okay, seriously- tell me if I'm crazy, but I kind of want these, too:

Magic Carpet
Leah at More Ways to Waste Time wrote up the 2008 SF Decorators Showcase, and I just wanted to point out the beautiful faux rug that my friend Jane Kim painted for Shirley Robinson. You might remember Jane's work in last year's showcase, where she painted a gorgeous mural. The Decorator's Showcase will be open from April 26-May 26 this year, so go take a look!

Beam Me Up
I know you all are dying to know which tray I decided to purchase from Ebay for my dresser, and at last I can tell you! Here it is in all its glory... the Scottie tray! I think it's very cute and the perfect shade of green.

Writing on the Wall
Here's a little peek at one of the walls in my kitchen, including that little key holder I just bought. The show poster on the left is an antique I picked up in Rhode Island, the little clock (which works!) is by fellow RISD alum David Dear, the small poster is a relic from my days at school (I think it was designed by Ryan Waller, but someone correct me if I'm wrong), and the two heart cards are by Dutch Door Press (top), and Blue Snail Papers (bottom). I'm still working on re-wiring the phone so that it will work...

Nice and Toasty
I'd Like to Propose a Toast
For some reason I just love colorful, food-oriented toys. I can't imagine why! I think this little vintage toaster (complete with cardboard toast) would be so cute with the Haba toys I posted about a few months ago...
Here's the auction!

Little Pitchers...
I am loving this little creamer! It wouldn't fit into my collection, but maybe somebody else will give it a good home.

In Bloom
Pull Up a Chair...
As you know, I've been looking for some time for the perfect fabric to reupholster my dining room chairs. A few months ago, I used a set of Thomas O'Brien for Target sheets as a temporary fix, but I still would prefer something in either turquoise or red. Leah at More Ways to Waste Time just posted about these amazing fabrics by Laura Cameron, and I'm wondering if one of these two might work for me?

Jordan at Oh Happy Day is selling her gorgeous collection of milk glass cake plates. You can read more about it here, and this is a link to her Craigslist posting.

Suddenly Seymour
I've had a few people ask about my dog, Seymour. He's a labradoodle, and he's about a year and a half old. He weighs 42 pounds (as of our last visit to the vet), and is a great dog. He's got a lot of energy, but he can also be mellow and is definitely a smart cookie. His favorite things to do are go swimming in the bay out at Point Isabel, and hang out with his good friend Chip, the standard poodle who lives with my parents. This picture was taken after he was groomed- usually he's much more scruffy!

Tray Chic
Okay, I don't normally post Ebay items that I want for myself, because I'd be really sad if someone bid against me, but I feel pretty safe with these. I've been looking for a little tray for on top of my dresser, and here are four options. What do you guys think? I think they all have their merits... The green one with the white flowers is a la more blue-green than most of the things in my bedroom. The Scottie tray is not in terrific shape, but I"m okay with a little patina. The pink is a bit pale- it's hard to tell if the color would pop more in person. And the Tray with the roses is great, but I just don't know if it's my favorite... Advice, please!

Pretty Paper
I've been a fan of Essimar Papel on Etsy for some time, and I thought I'd share some of their amazing, silkscreened work. Esther Ramirez' designs are so simple, and the colors so fresh. I wish I could explain better why I'm so drawn to them; you'll just have to look for yourself. You can see more of Esther's work on her blog.
More Cupcakes!
Here are a couple more adorable cupcakes from the Martha Stewart contest. I have to say that overall, I was unimpressed with the many Sesame Street characters, flower pots, and generally uninventive cupcakes. I was excited when I saw one cupcake made to look like spaghetti with meatballs, but then I realized that several people had made nearly identical ones. There are also numerous entries that are taken straight from the pages of Living... not very creative. But I love this little Tiffany box, and of course the "Pupcake."

Light Years
I've been looking for just the right ceiling light for my dining room for ages, and I'm wondering if something like these veneer pendants from Pieces would work. My guess is that I could find a less expensive alternative, or perhaps make them myself...
Tin Man
Here are some cute vintage tin items I've been looking at this week on Ebay.

Arabian Nights
Here's another great Arabia Finland find from Ebay: a little jam pot decorated with currants. I can already tell that the bidding is going to go too high for me, but check out the auction here.

Cup-a-cakes
I've been keeping an eye on the Cupcake Contest that's going on over at Martha Stewart right now. Rebekka at Maple Sugar contributed this gorgeous strawberry cupcake, which is honestly my favorite of all the 1,147 cupcakes that have been submitted so far. Some others I am liking:
Bath Time
Alright, it is really, really hard to get good pictures of my bathroom because it is TINY- there is literally less than two feet of floor space between the sink and tub- and the lighting is terrible, since I have a huge bottlebrush tree outside the window (which is great for privacy). So, by perching on the furthest corner of the bathtub, and using my flash, I was able to get these pictures. I wish the quality was better, but at least it gives you an idea of what I've done with the room. For those of you who weren't around for the remodel, all the tile is new. Click here for before/after pics.
The framed document is the original building permit for the house, from 1942! I found it in the circuit box when I moved in, and had it professionally conserved and backed with acid-free paper by Karen Zukor. I bought the medicine cabinet at Urban Ore in Berkeley, and the glass shelves are from Pottery Barn. In front of the picture of Claudette Colbert are my collections of found marbles and sea glass.
