
On our Route 66 road trip, we stayed at two of the three remaining Wigwam Motels in the country. There is a third one (actually the original one) in Cave City, Kentucky, which I have yet to visit. The two we stayed in were in Holbrook, AZ and San Bernardino, CA. I liked the Holbrook one better, partly because our experiences in Holbrook (shout out to Jack at Young's Corral!), and partly because it was a little more rustic. The San Bernardino wigwams were newly refurbished, and very comfortable, but not quite so charming. This is the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook:
