Happy National Donut Day!
In honor of what is now my favorite holiday ever, I thought I'd post some pictures. Let's call this series: "Donuts I Have Eaten."
HRS + RISD Love
I was so excited to see my fellow high school and RISD alum, Karla Wozniak, featured on Poppytalk today that I had to share. Andrea from Hulaseventy has a new (ish) weekly feature on PHM, and this week's subject was Karla! It's great to see how lovely her work is these days- it seems like just yesterday I was going to prom with her brother!

NSS 2009
The National Stationery Show is a little like summer camp: you see all your buddies and spend a short time bonding and commiserating, and then you go back to your normal life until the same time next year. Reuniting with my stationery friends is always the most fun part of the show for me, and I thought I'd take you on a little tour of their booths.
For the last two years, our bunk-mates, so to speak, have been Valerie and David (and now Ema) from Pikku who have the booth across from us, which is one of the nicer setups one could stare at for four days.
Serge and Susie of Twig and Fig have their shop just around the corner from my old studio, and are such great people. I love these new cards they've done with foil stamping on veneer.
I'm sad I didn't get better pictures of Two Trick Pony's booth because it was adorable! Laurie and Carrie are such nice ladies, and I am totally jealous of their screenprinting abilities.
We really enjoyed meeting Anna and Sean from Sub Studio. I've been following their work on Etsy for some time and it was fun to see it in person.
We see Mara and Anna from Dutch Door Press all the time on the Bay Area craft show circuit, and their beautiful cards never fail to impress me.
It was also fun seeing Mollie and Andrew from La Familia Green (they weren't at the show last year and we missed them!),
and of course the lovely folks at Binth
This year we stayed in the same hotel as Brady and Lindsay from Hammerpress. I am totally in love with this horse calendar.
I failed to take a picture of the booth of another Bay Area craft show friend, Ilee, but I do love this horseshoe card (have you noticed a show horse theme here?).
I was so jealous of the booth Diva from Linea Carta and Basak from Small Square Designs were sharing- they had beautiful wood walls, something that we simply can't carry on a plane from California.
It was great to finally meet Christine from Yellow Owl Workshop (another Bay Area local- there are always a lot of us at NSS),
and Rose from The Great Lakes. I think her display was super cute!
I also enjoyed meeting Amy of Amh Design, whose colorful, patterned needlepoint journals were one of my favorite finds.
It's always good to see Alan and Jennifer from Night Owl Papergoods, who really played up their affinity for wood in their booth this year.
Last but not least is Old School Stationers. I don't know how Brian mans the booth all alone every year. Their work is so beautiful; he must get swamped!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone (and our friends at Hello Lucky!, Paper Stories, Albertine Press, Pancake & Franks, EIEIO and Sweet Bella, whose booths were always too packed to photograph when I had my camera with me) again next year!

We Made It!
Marina and I made it through yet another year of the National Stationery Show and are headed home from New York in the morning. Our feet are sore, our bodies are exhausted, but we made a lot of sales and contacts, and I'm happy to say that this was our best show yet, in spite of the economy! Here are some pictures of our booth.
